Our Mission

The Hong Kong Consortium for Medical, Nursing and Healthcare Development is a charitable institution exempt from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Ref. 91/17783). We bring together experienced practitioners from across the healthcare professions who are willing to give their time to community service, so that their knowledge and experience can be used to raise standards within the sector and to serve the wider public.
Much of our work is directed at preventive medicine. We produce educational publications, hold health and medical seminars, conduct and publish survey findings, and organise focus group studies and patient support groups. The purpose is to give the public a clearer understanding of health matters, on the principle that prevention is better than cure. Regular health checks and healthy daily habits can help reduce health risks, and over time they lift the general standard of health across the community.
Interprofessional collaboration is another of our priorities. We bring together specialists from different medical and nursing disciplines to exchange experience on patient care, physical and mental well-being, diagnosis, treatment, medication guidance and rehabilitation.
Our work is not confined to education and health promotion. Members organise volunteer teams to visit residential care homes for older people and donate supplies, and we provide support to a range of community organisations.
