What We Have Achieved

Since its establishment, the Consortium has carried out the following work.

1. Continuing professional education for healthcare practitioners

We have organised more than 20 seminars accredited for Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) points, each drawing an average of over 200 healthcare practitioners. Two of these seminars were accredited at the same time for Continuing Medical Education (CME) points for Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioners, opening a channel of exchange between Chinese and Western medicine.

2. Patient and public education

Working alongside patient groups, we have held forums for people living with gastrointestinal conditions and for those affected by liver disease. We have also arranged for healthcare volunteers to deliver staff training at social welfare agencies and community centres, offering professional guidance on long COVID, the "three highs" — raised blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol — and other common health concerns.

3. Research and publication of findings

Our survey on digestive health among working women was released at a press conference attended by reporters from more than ten media outlets. It generated over 50 online and magazine reports, and brought wide public attention to constipation among working women and the steps that can prevent it.

4. Charitable work

Cancer survivors were invited to take part in a portrait photography project carrying a message of hope and renewal. Our "Men-B Bye Bye" campaign and district vaccination programme provided free services to low-income families and strengthened health promotion and education work at district level.

5. Healthcare Professionals' Choice – Extraordinary Healthcare Brand Awards

Throughout the pandemic, many health and medical companies continued to use their resources for the public good: donating health products and anti-epidemic supplies, providing free consultations, and building a culture of health within their own workforces. We stage a large-scale presentation ceremony to recognise these brands, with coverage on free-to-air television, in the press and on social media, in order to encourage the health industry to keep contributing to community health. Priority nominations for this year's awards open in March.

Our work to date has benefited more than 8,000 attendances.

Looking ahead, we will continue to draw on our professional knowledge and experience to serve as a bridge between the healthcare sector and patients. We will organise further activities, promote a culture of health and raise standards within the healthcare professions, so as to advance community health, support those in need and serve the public.
